Longview Police Satellite Office Hours Changing
Posted Date: 2/18/2014
Due to staffing changes, the Longview Police Department is reducing the hours its Highlands satellite office is open to the public. The office is located at 216 30th Avenue behind the St. Helens grocery store.

Effective Monday, February 17, 2014, the satellite office will be open for police business from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The office is currently open Monday-Thursday.

“We recently moved satellite office community service officer Cindy Turpen back to patrol in early January so that we have two CSOs responding to non-emergency calls when there are no suspects and abandoned vehicle complaints,” said LPD Patrol Captain Deborah Johnson.

Johnson said with two CSOs on patrol, one can work later hours to help swing shift officers with their heavy call load. “Having our CSOs take lower priority calls frees up our patrol officers to respond more quickly to emergency calls,” she said. “This also allows officers more time to investigate crimes and to patrol neighborhoods.”

People still may drop by the satellite office to turn in found property, file reports, sign up for the landlord notification program, pick up landlord-tenant information or register their bikes for free. Please call 442-5850 to make an appointment to register a bike.

When the satellite office is closed, people may call the non-emergency dispatch number to report crime. The number, which operates 24-7, is 577-3098. The Cop Logic online police reporting tool is available 24-7 from the comfort of your home and can be accessed at This tool is available for reporting crimes where a suspect is not known and can involve hit and runs with no injuries, identity theft, lost property, theft, theft from a vehicle, vandalism and vandalism of a vehicle.

Longview police share the building with the Highlands Neighborhood Association and Washington Department of Corrections. Their office hours vary.
